FAQ

Who can I reach that I might not have reached before with DLT E-mail Lists?

  • You can now use different selects to better target your e-mail campaign. These selects were not previously available.
  • Use geographic selects to narrow down your target audience around locations or in your trading areas.
  • Use household and other available selects to refine your numbers to the right audience. You can choose based on age, income, homeowner, etc.

How current are these e-mails?

  • New e-mails are added daily. Others are removed as e-mail programs are broadcast and undeliverable e-mail addresses identified, analyzed and deleted. Opt-out e-mails are removed immediately from the database and will never receive any further communication from us again.

How reliable are these e-mails?

  • All e-mails are permission-based e-mail addresses that can be segmented using the different selects to better target your audience.
  • When e-mails hard bounce (are returned) or opt-out, they are evaluated and removed from the e-mail database.
  • We continually monitor our bounce rates and establish benchmarks. If we have high hard bounces, we investigate the source of the data and double check our hygiene process and remove specific records.

Can you help me get my e-mail "through?”
We will work with you on several fronts to increase the deliverability of your e-mails. Among our services:

  • Helping you determine “Subject line”, “To line”, “From line” and specific language so your e-mail message does not get caught in a spam filter.
  • Performing a word and graphic spam filter check to see what items and tags will increase the likelihood of getting through spam filters.
  • Testing the top e-mail providers/readers—including G-mail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL and others—to ensure our messages go through with minimal rejection.
  • Providing preliminary and final delivery and response information so you can evaluate your e-mail campaign. Some of the metrics provided are: quantity ordered and broadcast, opens and click throughs. Also on the report are: percent [%] opened to ordered, clicked to delivered and clicked to opened.

How will this list work with/integrate with my current list? Can I use it to do direct mail and e-mail campaigns, in conjunction with one another?
Many clients use e-mail marketing to supplement their direct mail campaign.

  • Some clients broadcast an e-mail into geographic areas immediately after a direct mail launch to remind the customer about their promotional offer, special sale, great deal, etc.
  • Other clients rotate mailing in one area and e-mail another area. The following week, they switch, mailing to the “e-mail areas” and e-mailing to the “direct mail areas.” Their customer gets the same promotional message from “multiple channels,” colorful and appealing print mail in their standard mailbox and inviting e-messages on their computer.
  • Our clients also use the same selects that worked in their traditional direct mail program to do prospecting by e-mail. Based on the same criteria for selects, they use prospect e-mail and a pre- or post- e-mail notification centered on their direct mail campaign.

What are the steps required to work with Direct List on an e-mail campaign?

  • Select your target geographic area(s) and demographics.
  • With that preliminary information, we run counts.
  • You provide the html and text for your e-mail copy.
  • We set up a test e-mail, which you review and approve.
  • If changes need to be made, we oversee that process.
  • Once you provide a final OK, we approve the test e-mail and broadcast it.
